About the El Limón waterfall
El Limón is the best known waterfall in Samaná: around 50 metres of falling water into a natural pool you can swim in. It sits inland, on the road between Samaná and Las Terrenas.
This is not a boat trip. Access is by trail: most people ride up on horseback, and you can also walk it. The stretch takes twenty to thirty minutes depending on your pace.

What to bring
- Shoes with grip that can get wet. The trail is rock and mud, more so after rain
- Swimwear and a towel. The pool at the foot of the waterfall is for swimming

- If you ride, long trousers: the saddle and the vegetation rub
- Some cash, in case you want to buy a drink at the stops along the way
